Thai authorities block YouTube clip of the Great Dictator

The Thai authorities have blocked access to a youtube clip of the Charlie Chaplin's movie ‘the Great Dictator’.

On 21 June 2017, a Facebook user reported that an access to a Youtube clip of the movie ‘the Great Dictator’ was blocked by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society according to the Thai Lawyer for Human Rights (TLHR).

“This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government,” reads a message on the now blocked Youtube video.

Earlier on 11 June 2017, the Thai Academic Network of Civil Rights (TANCR), posted on their Facebook page to call on people to watch the movie and a documentary about the 1932 Revolution called ‘the Six Principles’ in order to commemorate the 85th Anniversary of the 1932 Revolution.

The access to the documentary on Vimeo is still available.
