<p>Kantapat (surname withheld), a 17 year old student activist, was summoned to the Nong Ki police station in Buriram Province on 3 January to sign a paper affirming that he would not interfere with an upcoming royal procession of Princess Sirindhorn on 5 January.</p>

<div>A court in Kamphaeng Phet has dismissed royal defamation charges against two suspects accused of making false claims about Princess Sirindhorn in an alleged scam.

<p>A court has renewed the detention of a suspect accused of royal defamation although there is no apparent evidence linking him to a group of people accused of defaming Princess Sirindhorn. </p>
<p>On 18 September 2017, the Provincial Court of Kamphaeng Phet<a href="http://www.tlhr2014.com/th/?p=5230"> began the trial </a>in a case which four people have been indicted under Article 112 of the Criminal Code, the lèse majesté law.</p>
<p>Human rights lawyers are arguing that suspects accused of defaming Princess Sirindhorn should not be indicted under the lèse majesté law.</p>
<p>According to<a href="http://www.tlhr2014.com/th/?p=4680"> Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR)</a>, from 18 July until December, the Provincial Court of Kamphaeng Phet will try four suspects charged with violating Article 112 of the Criminal Code, the lèse majesté law.</p>
<p>The Thai military have arrested a group of people in southern Thailand who are allegedly involved in a network making false claims about the monarchy for financial gain.</p>
<p>On 27 April 2017, <a href="http://news.thaipbs.or.th/content/261984">soldiers arrested</a> Nonglak B., a radio host from Thung Song District of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province after several individuals were arrested and taken to a local military base a day earlier for interrogation.</p>
<p>Four lèse majesté suspects accused of making false claims about HRH Princess Sirindhorn for financial benefit have denied lèse majesté charges.</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://tlhr2014.wordpress.com/2015/12/22/112kampangpetch_2/">Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR)</a>, on Monday, 21 December 2015, the Provincial Court of Kamphaeng Phet held a deposition hearing for Atsadaphon S., 45, Kittiphop S., 23, Wiset P., 30, and Noppharit, 28, (surnames withheld due to privacy concerns).</p>

<p>On November 16, HRH Princess Sirindhorn visited the 2015 CRMA Exhibition at the spiritual heart of the Thai military - Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. For those who have never been to the academy, it was founded in <a href="tel:1887" target="_blank" value="+661887">1887</a> in Nakhon Nayok in the Fifth Reign and is a living testimony to HRH King Chulalongkorn the Great (Rama V), with various busts and statues of him dotted around the base.</p>
